Isnt age just a number?
If so, why is it that most of our friends are of our same age. Usually your closest friends are those that have a plus or minus diffenrence in age with us. At least that is the case with me. Many will believe that the reason for this is due to the way the educational system work. People are placed in the same grades according to their age.
After this initial screening then the following factor of picking a friendship continue: size, similar likes or dislike, attractiviness, charisma ect. People choose due to numerous reason.
BUT why oh why is age SUCH A BIG DEAL?
maybe im wrong but age feels sort of as if society has constructed it in such a way that we must care. Im actually quite curious. I wonder what will a baby will do in a situation similar to this? This baby is placed in a playpen he must choose to play with a baby the same size as him or with a baby that is the same age as him (lets assume this one is bigger than him).; i just wonder what will happen?
Are the reason of picking just a factor between age and size or just plain confidence? Is it become someone likes to be challenged or wants not to feel thereatened .. or is just simple minded thinking?
OVERALL, why have we since the begging of time had as our closest friends people as our same age? After all age it is just a number. It doesnt count the amount of experiences one can have; 5 year olds can go through more shit that many 10 year olds and viceversa.... They can be even more mature as well.
In the end though, I wonder if the reason I think like this is because im young ...I wonder if this will eventualy change....maybe when I am old sort of like 80 will I have a 70 year old best friend? I just wonder how will we change in the future...
but most of all will we still pick our closest friends to be the same age as us?
